Alongside Coffee, Fuerte Metals maintains a portfolio of copper and gold assets in Chile and Mexico, supporting the company’s vision of building a diversified mining platform focused on responsible development, strong partnerships, and long-term value creation.</p><p><b>Purpose</b></p><p>To lead the development and execution of the Project’s First Nation and community engagement strategy, ensuring all engagement activities, relationships, and commitments are effectively delivered in support of the Project’s construction and operation phases.</p><p><b>Accountabilities</b></p><ul><li>Oversee the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the Community and Indigenous Relations Plan.</li><li>Lead engagement and commercial negotiations with First Nations partners and communities.</li><li>Design and execute communications campaigns, in collaboration with the Sustainability and External Relations Team, to build local support for the project.</li><li>Manage and attend community events (some weekends required) and identify strategic sponsorship opportunities.</li><li>Represent the company with governments, community groups, and interest organizations and ensure accurate, timely information sharing.</li><li>Organize tours, respond to community investment requests, public relations activities, and ensure compliance with company standards.</li><li>Collaborate with legal and financial specialists on partnership agreements and other material commercial agreements.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all community and Indigenous-related commitments, agreements, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Monitor and evaluate the performance of strategies and report regularly.</li><li>Oversee documentation of all community engagement activities and initiatives and prepare reports.</li><li>Support regulatory processes, including permitting and public consultation processes.</li><li>Provide oversight of engagement tracking systems and ensure commitments are being met and risks are proactively managed.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Minimum of 8 years of experience in Indigenous Relations, community engagement, environmental or social performance, or a related field.</li><li>Experience with Indigenous customs and cultures, particularly Yukon Indigenous Peoples.</li><li>Experience engaging with Indigenous groups and collaborating with representatives and communities.</li><li>Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.</li><li>Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and complex stakeholder environments.</li><li>Understanding of social media tools and their impact on corporate communications.</li><li>Experience supporting regulatory processes and public consultation is an asset.</li><li>A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.</li><li>Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous studies, business, sustainability, social sciences, or related field</li><li>Post-graduate degree in Indigenous studies, business, public policy, or related field (asset, not always required).</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Work Location &amp; Conditions</b></p><ul><li>Location: Yukon Territories, Canada</li><li>Remote based role with a preference for Yukon based candidates</li><li>Standard 5-day work week</li><li>Periodic travel to and across the Yukon and Vancouver required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Position Availability</b></p><p>This posting represents an active and current vacancy within Fuerte Metals.
